UMBC/NOAA Scholarship Opportunity

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recently awarded UMBC with a 5-year funding grant to educate and train underrepresented minority (URM) students in NOAA-related mission goals related to atmospheric sciences and remote sensing technology. The UMBC Atmospheric Lidar Group is interested in students (undergraduate and graduate) with Science, Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) and Social Science majors interested in research topics in air quality, wind energy, climate change, algorithm development and remote sensing instrumentation. Our research is very interdisciplinary, with past group members having majors in Physics, Geography and Environmental Systems, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Computer, Chemical and Mechanical Engineering, and Public Policy.
