UMBC’s Atmospheric Physics (ATPH) program conducts research in many areas of physics impacting the Earth, atmosphere, and climate systems. This symposium is the second in an annual series that will showcase ATPH opportunities to new students and promote collaborations within UMBC and the wider scientific community. Presenters include ATPH faculty, scientists from NASA and the Joint Center for Earth Systems Technology (JCET), and other graduate students and professionals. Topics for presentation and discussion include:
- Earth science satellite development and calibration
- Light scattering and radiative transfer processes
- Cloud and climate modelling
- Air quality
- Wind energy
- Weather forecasting
