TITLE:  "The Impacts of Biomass Burning Produced Aerosols on Summertime African Climate Dynamics: Observations, Modeling and Future Perspectives”

ABSTRACT: Central Africa is one of the largest sources for biomass burning and its associated aerosol emissions. Every summer, these aerosols are advected toward the Atlantic and Indian Oceans where they interact with radiation and moisture (clouds). These aerosol-cloud-radiation interactions in turn impact local and regional dynamics such as the West African monsoon and stratocumulus-to-cumulus transitions. We explore such impacts utilizing both observations and modeling.
