Description
TITLE: "Design or Perish: Combating qubit control errors using geometric space curves”
ABSTRACT: The promise of quantum supremacy sits upon the shoulders of high-quality quantum control protocols. Despite the technological advancements in quantum hardware fabrication and detailed modeling of quantum systems, even well-characterized sources of error can severely impact the desired quantum operation. In this talk, I will review the traditional methods that protect the qubit from its environment and introduce our approach for suppressing errors during the quantum evolution. I will outline our most recent efforts for the systematic design of noise-robust quantum control protocols using adaptive geometric shapes and share our recent experimental results on IBM quantum hardware.
