Daniel Miller won NASA fellowship
Daniel Miller won a coveted NASA Earth and Space Science fellowship, or NESSF. This is a highly competitive fellowship. NASA received 410 applications this year in Earth Science Research area and only 54 were selected. This prestigious $30,000/yr fellowship is awarded initially for a year with maximum two more renewals contingent on satisfactory progress and funding.
Daniel is a graduate student in the physics department under the advisement of Dr. Zhibo Zhang. His research focuses on satellite-based remote sensing of cloud properties. His proposal to NESSF includes an integrated modeling and observational study of how cloud 3-D structure influences cloud property retrievals based on NASA’s space-born and airborne sensors.
